So many people mock Thera and I don't really see why. If it's not your taste then that's fine, but there's no need to try to make fun of others preferences or play-styles.
Thera is a wormhole system. Get over it. You can only get in or out with wormholes, I don't think the fact it's got 4 stations should distract you from that basic fact. For people who don't want to put up with the hassle of maintaining a POS and want the added benefit of having approximately 20 other connections to all types of space, then Thera is great. Whether an explorer or a PVPer there are plenty of options, and exits constantly change for new opportunities.
There are currently several groups who call Thera there base:
Furtherance. (shameless plug incoming) is a casual corp of explorers/PVPers who try to help bring content to Thera by stocking market, scouting exits, and roaming thru holes.
EvE-Scout is a collective of explorers that keep the wormhole connections updated and public for anyone to use.
Aquila is one of the PVP corps of Verge of Collapse, who also live here. They hang around Paleo mostly but also camp the holes and roam as well. If you see 200+ drones on a hi-sec hole it was probably one of them.
Bombers Bar is a community of PVPers who lead bomber/blops fleets from Thera and are quite successful.
Razor Alliance has some assets here and you can often see them flying assault frigate fleets in and around Thera connections.
There are many other groups I haven't named who live here, and others who roam through when a connection is near them. I would say the system is very much active.
You kind folks can hate on Thera all you want but it is what it is, and I'm tired of people acting like they're superior because they live in a C5/6 and insist they are the only "real" wormholers.

Care to elaborate on this? I'd be interested to listen.

If that corner involves standing with 90% of the wormhole community who don't care about Thera then I'll gladly stand there. You and the Devs can have Thera and play WiS (wormholers in stations) to your heart's content.
Well if the only argument you have is that "I don't want to associate with those people cuz, ew." then I will gladly stand in the other corner. I don't see anyone coming to harm with this arrangement so I can only affirm this is a great idea. 90% of the wormhole community can stay in their wormholes. The 10% in Thera can go wherever the **** they want, including your wormholes (hi sleeper social club, why'd you close that wormhole so fast?).

You've got to be really bitter to call someone a **** over something as stupid as this. Anyways, I'll leave you in peace. Enjoy your solitude. |

Kirasten wrote:I think the mistake here is people feeling that basing out of thera qualifies them as wormholers. There is nothing wrong with enjoying thera and there are a few wormholers that do, but basing out of thera doesn't make you a wormholer. The majority of the thera population is from k-space, not w-space.
I would agree with that however there are also people who live in Thera and never/rarely use the stations, just like there are 'wormholers' who roam j-space and never put up a POS. Or is your definition of a 'wormholer' someone who anchors a POS in a specific wormhole and tries to claim it as their own? If so, then I would say the issue lies in people's differing definitions of the term.
I don't see why there being k-spacers in a system changes the way it's categorized. It's also a bit silly considering all those who live in wormhole systems were once k-space dwellers.
My only mode of transportation in or out of Thera are wormholes. That is why it is a 'wormhole' system. There are no other systems like that besides previously existing wormhole systems. K-space has stargates and wormholes; wormhole systems have no stargates. The lack of moons prevent anchoring POS, but that is the same with the other 100 shattered wormhole systems. Are people going to say that those shattered wormhole systems aren't real j-space and that people who operate in there aren't wormholers?
I admit it's silly to debate an insignificant topic so much, after-all people will label things however they want, but the arguments thus far and the flak I've received since moving to Thera seems to be more strange than this debate. |
